About the Elham Area
The village of Elham is in the centre of a beautiful chalkland valley and has many historical buildings. It sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is partly in a Conservation Area. It attracts many visitors (walkers, naturalists, historians, and other tourists) from the UK and from the Continent via the nearby Channel Tunnel and port of Dover. There is access from the M20 and A20 as well as the M2 and A2.
About the Elham area Churches
We are four local Christian denominations who offer regular worship and activities for residents and visitors, Anglican and Methodist, the Anglicans also include the villages of Acrise, Denton and Wootton. Roman Catholics have in the past offered a monthly Mass served by a priest from Folkestone. Unfortunately due to illness this is not currently available. The Methodists are part of the South Kent Circuit. The Anglicans have a resident Priest-in-charge and are part of the Elham Deanery in the Canterbury Diocese. The Methodist Church is in the Elham High Street and the St. Mary's Anglican Church is in the village square (see map).
