Sunday School meets each Sunday in St. Mary's Church Hall at 9.30 and the children then move on either to the Methodist Church or St. Mary's Church for the last part of the Sunday Worship which ends at about 10.40. All the teachers are CPRE checked and offer their time free
We can report the Sunday School is still in existence and
has a small number of regular attenders. Two are in primary school, one in
secondary school and Rosie and Meg who are there week by week to support the
little ones with music and games(they can run faster than some of us!)
I am very grateful to the loyal leaders from both
churches,and to Sue Vale,our treasurer.
We are still mainly using resources from Scripture
Union, although some of our professional teachers use their own source material
from time to time.
We still meet weekly, apart from in school holidays ,and
not when there are all age services or special events in the main churches
which are family friendly.
We have wondered at times if the group is still viable
,but as long as there are children who are gaining from attendance we feel it
is right to carry on.
There have been some weeks where the younger children
have other events to go to and cannot attend, and if this happens the leaders
take themselves off to church to join in the main services, saving the material
for another day.
May thanks to St. Mary's and Elham Methodist Church for
