Here are some of the things you can do locally:


 

YOUR GIFTS FOR THE RAINBOW CENTRE ARE WELCOME at all times.

David Whitethread says that items currently most needed for the Rainbow Centre are as follows:

       Tins of fish or cooked meat (tuna, pilchards, corned beef, ham etc.)

       Tinned main meals (stew, curry, hot dogs, meatballs etc.)

       Tinned vegetables (carrots, peas, sweet corn etc.)

       Pasta, rice or instant noodles (or packets of pasta with sauce or savoury rice)

       Tea, coffee, sugar and long-life milk (preferably half a litre)

       Tinned baked beans or spaghetti

       Tins and packet soups tins of tomatoes or cooking sauces 

       Tinned potatoes

       Tinned fruit or rice pudding or custard

       Breakfast cereals

       Sweet biscuits or cream crackers

       Chocolate or other items such as jams or crisps

       Water based hot chocolate powder

Wherever possible, pull rings are especially helpful.  We also provide basic toiletries such as : toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, razors etc.

Please note:The Rainbow Centre is unable to receive any fresh produce.

Action 1Join us in praying for peace in our world. Do this at home or join us in St. Mary's Church Elham at 7.30 a.m.every Friday  
Action 2Visit sick & housebound people or those in hospital. For more details contact dianawheeler@btinternet.com Diana Wheeler (Tel: 01303 840 310).  
Action 3Come to the local FAQs Meetings with speakers and discussion on subjects such as the environment, health etc. which have been initiated by St. Mary's Elham. Details from Dr. Denis Osborne (Tel: 01303 840540)do@governance.org.uk  
Action 4Worship regularly and help build up the Church "the body of Christ". Bring the children. We are an all-age community.  
Action 5 Support with food and other gifts the Rainbow Centre for the homeless in Folkestone. Bring tins of food, soup and other preserves to St. Mary's Church which are taken for distribution.   
Action 6Support Christian Aid Christian Aid for the world's hungry and poor.

Fairtrade Goods 

which are available from our churches  
Action 8Join and Support the EEG the Elham Environment Group which the churches here helped to start.  
Action 9Support, Join and pray for Missionary work Our Mission Societies such as U.S.P.G  
Action 10 Bring Christian Values into local organisations and politics by joining in and taking part.
