Hire Charges (w.e.f. January 2017):

Monday to Friday        Morning (9.00am to 1.00pm); Afternoon (1.30pm to 5.30pm) - £10.00                               Evening (6.00pm to 10.00pm) - £12.00

Saturday & Sunday      All sessions - £12.00

The above charges are inclusive of lighting, heating and use of the kitchen. The Hall must be left in good order for the next hirer.  Any cleaning, tidying, furniture replacement or rubbish removal will be charged at cost.

All bookings, accompanied by the Application Form, MUST be paid for no less than 14 days prior to the date of hire.  Payment, preferably by cheque, is payable to St. Mary’s Church Hall.  Regrettably, sessions cancelled with less than 14 days notice will generally not be refundable.

CONDITIONS OF HIRE

  • The hirer is responsible for the premises and contents during the period of hire. Any damage must be reported without delay by entry in the Hall Book (in the kitchen) or directly to the Bookings Secretary. The hirer will be expected to make good or pay for all damage including accidental damage.                                                                                                                             
  •  
  • The Management Committee does its best to ensure that the building, fixtures and fittings are in safe, working order when the hire commences. Please report any deficiencies in the Hall Book so that they can be remedied as soon as possible.                                                     
  •  
  • Any incident in or around the building and which could be regarded as an accident must be recorded in the Accident Book (in the kitchen) and advised as soon as possible to the Bookings Secretary.                                                                                                                            
  •  
  • The hirer is responsible during the period of hire for the conduct of all persons attending. Hirers should give particular consideration to the rights of neighbours and the tenants of the first-floor flat, especially in the evenings.                                                                                                  
  •  
  • The hall does not have licences for alcohol, gambling or music. Hirers must make their own arrangements if any licences are required.                                                                                      
  •  
  • Highly flammable substances should not be brought into the hall.                                         
  •  
  • The rear door from the kitchen, giving access to the chair store, is an emergency fire exit and must be kept clear of obstruction at all times.                                                                       
  •  
  • No responsibility can be accepted for any equipment or property stored or left on the premises, whether or not by prior arrangement. For the convenience and safety of hirers we reserve the right to remove anything left out.                                                                         
  •  
  • Please advise the Bookings Secretary if you wish to bring animals, other than guide dogs, into the hall. Animals are not allowed in the kitchen area.                                                     
  •  
  • Smoking in the hall is not permitted.                                                                                          
  •  
  • At the end of each hire session the hirer is responsible for leaving the premises clean and tidy with all contents properly replaced and returning the key to the keyholder.  All rubbish must be removed from the site by the hirer – there is no collection facility. Please depart promptly leaving the hall and its contents as you would wish to find them.

  • If the hall requires cleaning or other work to prepare for subsequent hirers then a charge to the initial hirer will be made.
